The Crypto SEO Agency for Projects That Need Rankings, Not Just Hype

Ad platforms restrict you, KOL threads scroll away in a day, and Discord goes quiet between campaigns. Google does not. LuvKaizen has run crypto-native marketing since 2019 across 200+ campaigns, and search is the one channel where work done this quarter still pays next year.

Quick answer: A crypto SEO agency grows organic Google traffic for blockchain projects by fixing technical crawlability on JavaScript dApps, building content around token, DeFi and exchange search intent, and earning authority links from crypto media. It is the same discipline as blockchain SEO. LuvKaizen has run crypto-native SEO since 2019, across 200+ marketing campaigns.

Below: what makes crypto search a different discipline, the technical failures that keep blockchain sites out of the index, how we handle the toxic backlink profiles most crypto domains inherit, a month by month delivery timeline, and exactly how results get measured. Why Crypto SEO Is a Different Discipline

Google files crypto under YMYL and raises the bar accordingly

Your Money or Your Life covers any page that can affect a reader's finances, and crypto sits at the centre of it. In practice Google wants more evidence before it will rank you: named authors with verifiable track records, primary sources instead of paraphrased blog posts, visible publish and update dates, honest risk language, and disclosure when the publisher holds the asset it is writing about. A generic agency ships anonymous listicles and then blames the algorithm. Crypto content that ranks reads like it was written by someone willing to put their name on it.

E-E-A-T in crypto is an entity problem, not a byline problem

Adding an author name to the bottom of a post does nothing on its own. Google has to connect that name to a real, corroborated entity. That means consistent author pages with credentials, Person and Organization schema with sameAs references to profiles that actually exist, an About page that names the team, and third party mentions of those people elsewhere on the web. We build this layer deliberately, because on YMYL queries it is frequently the difference between position 4 and position 24.

Ad policy spillover makes organic the only durable channel

Google and Meta both restrict crypto advertising: certification requirements, country by country eligibility, and outright bans on categories such as initial coin offerings and much of DeFi. Campaigns get approved one month and rejected the next, often with no useful explanation. Two things follow. Paid acquisition in crypto is unreliable and expensive, so organic carries more weight here than in almost any other industry. And the same institutional caution that governs the ad side shows up in how conservatively crypto queries get surfaced organically. You do not get the benefit of the doubt in this category. You earn it in signals.

Search demand moves with the market

Crypto keyword volume is cyclical in a way most industries are not. Terms carrying a quarter of your traffic in a bull run go quiet in a drawdown, and new narratives create keyword sets that did not exist six months earlier. We build every strategy in two layers: an evergreen base of definitional, comparison and how-to content that holds value through cycles, and a fast moving opportunity layer revisited monthly as narratives shift.

Blockchain SEO and crypto SEO are the same engagement

Some teams search for a blockchain SEO agency, some for crypto SEO, some for Web3 SEO. The work is identical: making blockchain companies, protocols, token pages and dApps findable in search. We cover L1 and L2 ecosystems, wallets, exchanges, DeFi apps, infrastructure and RWA platforms inside one strategy, so you are not hiring a separate vendor per label.

The Technical Failures That Keep Blockchain Sites Out of the Index

JavaScript rendering on dApps

Client rendered React, Vue and Next.js apps hand Googlebot an empty shell and ask it to come back later. It does, eventually, but rendering sits in a queue, and anything depending on a wallet connection, a client side router or a hash fragment may never be seen at all. The fixes are unglamorous and they work: server side render or statically generate every page you want indexed, use real anchor elements instead of click handlers for internal navigation, keep indexable content outside wallet gated states, and verify with the URL Inspection tool rather than assuming.

Token and asset page indexation at scale

Exchanges, data sites and portfolio trackers generate thousands of asset pages from one template, and Google indexes a fraction of them. The symptom is a coverage report full of Crawled, currently not indexed and Discovered, currently not indexed. The cause is almost always the same: near identical templates with very little unique content per asset, plus crawl budget burned on permutations nobody searches for, such as every trading pair, every fiat conversion and every chart timeframe as its own URL. We tier the asset set by real search demand, invest genuine content in the top tier, canonicalise or noindex the long tail, control parameter URLs, and split XML sitemaps by tier so indexation can be measured per group instead of guessed at.

Thin programmatic token pages and index bloat

Programmatic SEO works in crypto, but only when the template sits on a real data advantage. A generated page carrying a price widget and two sentences of boilerplate will not rank, and thousands of them will drag down how the rest of the domain is assessed. Before we scale any template we define a minimum content contract: the unique data, commentary, comparison or on-chain context every generated page must carry to justify existing. Pages that cannot meet it do not get published.

Exchange and listing page architecture

Trading pair pages, fiat on-ramp pages, how-to-buy pages and country landing pages routinely compete with each other for the same query. Google picks one, often the wrong one, and the whole cluster underperforms. We map cannibalisation across the site, consolidate or genuinely differentiate the overlapping pages, and rebuild internal linking so authority flows to the page that should win.

Multilingual crypto search

A large share of crypto search demand is not in English. Turkish, Vietnamese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Indonesian and Chinese queries all carry serious volume, and most projects address them with a machine translated dump that Google treats as exactly what it is. Doing it properly means locale specific keyword research rather than translated English keywords, native review of anything user facing, bidirectional hreflang with a valid x-default, and separate indexation and ranking monitoring per locale so a broken market is caught early rather than at the annual review.

Core Web Vitals on chart heavy pages

Live price widgets, charting libraries, wallet SDKs and tracking scripts are heavy, and Interaction to Next Paint suffers first. We audit third party script weight, defer everything not needed for first paint, lazy load below-the-fold widgets, and set a performance budget your engineering team can hold to after we leave.

Backlink Toxicity: The Cleanup Crypto Domains Usually Need First

Most crypto domains inherit a bad link profile

By the time a project has been through two growth vendors and a bounty campaign, the backlink profile usually contains things nobody would buy deliberately: sitewide footer links from token listing directories, guaranteed placements on private blog networks dressed as crypto news sites, airdrop and faucet directory spam, forum and comment links generated by community members chasing rewards, and occasionally links injected by compromised sites. None of it was necessarily malicious. All of it now sits between you and the rankings you want.

Audit before acquisition

We do not start building links until we know what is already there. A full audit covers referring domain quality, whether the linking pages are themselves indexed, sitewide versus contextual placement, link velocity anomalies that indicate a purchased burst, and anchor text distribution, which in crypto is usually the loudest problem: dozens of exact match commercial anchors pointing at one page is a pattern that is trivial to detect. Where we find clear networks we file a disavow. Where links are merely mediocre we leave them alone, because disavow is a blunt instrument and over-using it causes more harm than the links did.

What a link worth having looks like

  • Editorial coverage of genuine news: a raise, a mainnet, an audit result, a partnership with a counterparty anyone has heard of.
  • Citations of original data or research you published, which is the most repeatable link source in this industry.
  • Ecosystem links: chain ecosystem directories, partner integration pages, audit firm reports, developer documentation and repository references.
  • Conference speaker pages, podcast episode pages and event listings.
  • Tool and product directories where a human actually reviews submissions.

Digital PR does the heavy lifting

The most durable link acquisition in crypto is not outreach, it is being worth covering. Our SEO and PR teams work from the same calendar so announcements are timed and framed to earn editorial coverage rather than syndication, and that coverage feeds the authority the SEO programme depends on. If earned media is your bottleneck, start with our crypto PR agency work and let search compound on top of it.

Deliverables, Timeline and What Happens Each Month

Crypto SEO is not a fixed product, but the shape of a competent engagement is predictable. Here is how ours runs.

Authority buildingMonth 3 onwardDigital PR, original data assets, ecosystem and documentation linksQualifying referring domains growing, mid competition terms entering the top 20
Compounding returnsMonth 6 onwardRefresh cycles, new keyword clusters, programmatic scale-out, conversion optimisationNon-branded organic sessions and product signups as the headline number

What is always in scope

  • Technical audit and a prioritised fix list your engineers can action, with implementation support where wanted.
  • Keyword universe research mapped page by page to search intent, with cannibalisation resolved before anything is briefed.
  • Content briefs and full production by writers who have actually used the products they write about.
  • Author and organisation entity build-out: schema, profiles, disclosure and update policies.
  • Backlink audit, disavow management and ongoing authority acquisition through digital PR and ecosystem placements.
  • Structured data, internal linking architecture and XML sitemap segmentation.
  • Locale expansion and hreflang where international demand justifies it.
  • Monthly reporting against the metrics in the next section, plus a working session rather than a PDF.

What drives the cost

We scope by workload rather than by package, because two crypto projects can genuinely need very different things. The variables that move a quote are the competitiveness of your target keyword set, the content volume required to cover it, how many locales you want live, whether our team or yours implements technical fixes, and how aggressive the authority building component needs to be. Anyone quoting a flat monthly figure before looking at your Search Console is guessing. Every engagement starts with a free audit so the number is based on evidence.

How Results Are Measured, and Who This Works For

The numbers we report

  • Indexation rate by page tier, so you can see whether the pages you paid for are even eligible to rank.
  • Share of the target keyword set in the top 10 and top 3, tracked against a list agreed at kickoff and not quietly edited later.
  • Non-branded organic sessions, reported separately from branded, because branded traffic flatters every report and says nothing about acquisition.
  • Product actions attributed to organic: signups, wallet connects, KYC starts, app installs, documentation visits, whatever your real conversion is.
  • Qualifying referring domains, counted only where the linking page is indexed and genuinely relevant.
  • Visibility inside AI answers, since a growing share of crypto research now happens in AI Overviews and assistants. That work is detailed on our crypto AEO agency page.

What we refuse to present as a win

Domain Rating or Domain Authority movement on its own, impression counts on queries with no commercial relevance, branded traffic spikes caused by an exchange listing or a KOL push, and keyword counts padded with terms that have no search volume. If a report only looks good when you squint at it, it is not a report.

Who this works for

  • DeFi and yield protocols competing for comparison, staking and how-to queries that lead directly to deposits.
  • Token projects, L1s and L2s building ecosystem, developer and documentation search presence from pre-launch through mainnet.
  • Exchanges and trading platforms that need asset page indexation solved before anything else will move.
  • Wallets, infrastructure and RWA platforms selling to retail and institutional searchers with very different intent.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does crypto SEO take to show results?

Expect indexation and technical wins inside 4 to 8 weeks, first rankings on long tail terms around month 3, and meaningful non-branded traffic growth by month 6. Competitive head terms in exchange and DeFi categories take longer, often 9 to 12 months, because they require an authority profile that cannot be shortcut. Anyone promising page one in 30 days is selling something else.

Is a blockchain SEO agency different from a crypto SEO agency?

No, they are two names for the same service. Whether you call it blockchain SEO, crypto SEO or Web3 SEO, the work is making protocols, token pages, exchanges and dApps findable in search. LuvKaizen covers all of it inside one engagement, so you do not need separate vendors for your protocol pages, your docs and your token pages.

Can you fix a dApp built on React or Next.js?

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons we get hired. Client rendered apps often serve Googlebot an empty shell. We implement server side rendering or static generation for indexable routes, replace click handler navigation with real anchor links, move content out of wallet gated states, and verify each fix in Search Console rather than assuming it worked.

What do you do about a toxic backlink profile from a previous agency?

We audit before we build. That means reviewing referring domain quality, anchor text distribution, sitewide placements and link velocity, then disavowing clear networks while leaving merely mediocre links alone. Over-aggressive disavow does more damage than the bad links did. This audit is part of the first three weeks of every engagement.

How much does crypto SEO cost?

We scope by workload rather than packages. Cost is driven by keyword competitiveness, required content volume, how many languages you need live, whether we or your engineers implement technical fixes, and how much authority building is needed. Every engagement begins with a free audit, so the quote is based on your actual Search Console data instead of a guess.
