Casino Streamer Audience Audit: How Brands Check a Streamer Before Paying

October 23, 2026

Casino Streamer Audience Audit: How Brands Check a Streamer Before Paying

A casino streamer audience audit is the set of checks a brand runs on a streamer's numbers before it signs or pays. It answers three questions with evidence: are the viewers real, do they live in countries where your licence applies, and are they adults. Below are seven checks in order, the evidence to ask for, and a table to copy into a sheet.

Quick answer: Ask for dashboard exports and match them against a public tracker. Compare unique chatters with average viewers over ten streams, read the viewer curves, review 90 days of follower history, split the audience by country and age, and read the past sponsor history. Mark each check pass, query or fail. A fail on country, age or bot signs means no booking. Two or more queries mean a paid test stream first.

Why Brands Audit Casino Streamers Before Paying

Inflated numbers are common in live streaming. Viewbots add viewers, and sometimes chat, that will never see your brand or sign up, so the headline numbers on a channel are not enough to book on.

Platforms are acting, but they will not check a sponsor's numbers for you. Kick does not count bot or engagement tool activity towards its Partner Program and does not publish how it detects it (Kick Help Center). Twitch said on 7 May 2026 that it will cap concurrent viewers on channels confirmed to use bots (Players, 8 May 2026).

Step 1: Collect the Evidence Pack

Ask every streamer for the same pack so shortlists compare fairly. Ask for sources, not summaries, because a media kit is a document the streamer controls.

  • Dashboard exports or a screen share from the streamer's own Kick or Twitch analytics: average and peak viewers, unique chatters, followers, watch time and viewer countries for 90 days.
  • The last ten stream links, at least three of them not sponsored.
  • Proof of channel ownership and the name of the person who signs.
  • Gambling sponsors from the last six months, with dates.

Mark anything missing as unknown, not as a pass. For UK campaigns CAP guidance says that working with creators who cannot provide suitable demographic data is a risk that the campaign breaches the CAP Code (CAP, September 2025).

Step 2: Match the Dashboard Against a Public Tracker

Open a public tracker that covers Kick and Twitch and shows average viewers, peak viewers, hours watched, follower gain and viewer location by country. Compare the same 90 days with the dashboard export. Trackers estimate, so small gaps are normal. A gap you cannot explain, or a dashboard that is always higher than the public data, is a query.

Step 3: Check the Chat to Viewer Ratio

The ratio is unique chatters divided by average viewers for the same stream. Real audiences include people who watch without typing, so it never gets close to 100%. What matters is how it compares with peers and with the streamer's own history.

  1. Note average viewers and unique chatters for ten streams from the last 30 days.
  2. Work out the ratio for each stream, then the average.
  3. Do the same for three to five streamers in the same category and size band.
  4. A ratio far below the peers, or one that swings with no raid or event, is a query.

Illustration only, not a benchmark: 2,000 average viewers and 40 unique chatters gives a ratio of 2%. Whether that is a problem depends on what similar channels show.

Kick added an active chatter list on 6 August 2026, so anyone can see active chatters next to the viewer count. Early screenshots showed large gaps on some channels, and the reporting stressed that a gap is not proof of botting because many real viewers do not chat (Dexerto, 6 August 2026). Read the chat too: newer bots can simulate chat, so a busy chat is not proof either.

Step 4: Read the Viewer Curves

casino streamer audience audit: viewer curve patterns panel illustration

Open the per stream viewer graph on the tracker and compare its shape with how a live audience behaves.

PatternWhat it usually meansMark as
Ramp up after go live, dips at breaks, slow drift downPeople arriving and leaving normallyPass
Jump after a raid, host or viral clip, then decayReal traffic from a visible sourcePass if the source shows in chat
Flat line for hoursPossible fixed bot countQuery
Steps of identical size at regular intervalsPossible bot batches joiningQuery
Sawtooth spikes on a timerA common sign of bots added on a scheduleQuery

A high share of logged out viewers and traffic that moves in straight, regular lines are other warning signs. Only the streamer can see the logged in share, so ask for the dashboard. A raid can explain a spike, so ask before you accuse.

Step 5: Review 90 Days of Follower History

Pull daily follower counts from the tracker and mark every jump. Find the cause for each: a raid, viral clip, collab or giveaway. A jump with no cause is a query, especially if average viewers and chat did not rise with it.

  • Followers against viewers. A huge follower count next to a small audience can mean bought followers, or just an old channel. Check when the followers arrived.
  • Sudden drops. A sharp fall in average viewers after a platform clean up, such as Twitch's detection changes in August 2025 or its viewer caps in May 2026, can mean earlier numbers included bots.

Step 6: Split the Audience by Country and Age

A real audience in the wrong country is still wasted spend, and in a regulated market it is a compliance problem.

  • Country split. Put the streamer's viewer countries next to your licence list and agree the minimum share from licensed markets in writing before you book.
  • Age. Dashboards often show little or no age data, so combine what exists with the content mix. For UK campaigns, CAP says no medium should be used to advertise gambling if more than 25% of its audience is under 18 (CAP). The ASA's October 2025 guidance treats at least 100,000 social media follower accounts registered to under 18s as an indicator of strong appeal, and says age inferred from behaviour is unlikely to be reliable enough (ASA).
  • Content mix. The same guidance notes that video games and esports are very popular with under 18s, so a streamer who also plays youth focused games needs a closer look.

Other markets set their own limits. Our casino influencer compliance guide covers rules by platform.

Step 7: Read the Past Sponsor History

  • Which brands, and for how long. A streamer who changes casino every few weeks may move viewers to the next code. Ask about exclusivity.
  • Were they licensed? Check each brand on the regulator register, such as the Gambling Commission public register. Kick allows only licensed gambling sponsors (Kick Help Center).
  • Disclosure habits. Open three old sponsored VODs. The sponsor should be labelled at the start and repeated during the stream, as the FTC asks of live streamers (FTC). See our disclosure examples.
  • Money and strikes. Check whether a sponsor funded balance was shown as the streamer's own money, and ask about bans or strikes in the last 12 months.

Copy This Audit Table

Paste it into a sheet with one row per streamer, and add the date and who ran each check so you can show your work later.

Turn the Audit Into a Decision

  • Any fail on country, age or bot signs: do not book, and write down why.
  • Two or more queries: run a paid test stream on a tracked link before any longer deal, then compare sign ups by country.
  • All pass: book, with a make good clause for viewer shortfalls and a right to end the deal if the streamer breaches platform or advertising rules.

Repeat the audit at every renewal. Tie results to tracked sign ups with the setup in our guide to iGaming influencer attribution, and use how to vet iGaming creators for contract and commercial checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a casino streamer audience audit?

A casino streamer audience audit is a set of checks a brand runs before paying a streamer. It covers whether viewers are real, where they live and whether they are adults, plus follower history and past sponsors.

How do you tell if a casino streamer uses viewbots?

Look for chat that is small next to the viewer count, flat, stepped or sawtooth viewer curves, follower jumps with no cause and a high share of logged out viewers. Each one is a reason to ask questions, not proof.

What is a normal chat to viewer ratio for a casino stream?

There is no official figure. Divide unique chatters by average viewers over ten streams, then compare the result with three to five similar channels and with the streamer's own history.

What audience data should a streamer share with a brand?

Dashboard exports for the last 90 days: average and peak viewers, unique chatters, followers, watch time and viewer countries, plus age data where the platform shows it.

How often should a brand repeat the audit?

At every renewal and after any sharp change in viewers, followers or platform status. Audiences and platform enforcement both change over time.
