Streamer Sponsorship Renewal Scorecard: Renew, Change or Stop a Casino Streamer Deal

October 23, 2026

Streamer Sponsorship Renewal Scorecard: Renew, Change or Stop a Casino Streamer Deal

A streamer sponsorship renewal scorecard is a one page sheet a casino brand fills in before it extends a streamer deal. It makes the decision rest on delivery, audience, player quality and compliance, not on how large the streamer looks or how long you have worked together.

Quick answer: Clear four pass or fail gates first: disclosure, licensed markets, platform standing and a fresh audience check. Then score seven weighted criteria from 1 to 5 and turn the total into a percentage. Suggested bands: 80% or more, renew; 65% to 79%, renew with changes; 50% to 64%, extend briefly with a target; under 50%, stop. A failed gate means stop or pause whatever the score.

Running a casino brand? Book a free strategy call and we will build the scorecard around your own targets.

When to Run the Renewal Review

streamer sponsorship renewal scorecard: renewal review timing panel illustration

Start at least four weeks before your notice date, not your end date. Many agreements renew automatically unless one side gives notice, so the notice date is the real deadline. Pull four things before you score anything:

  • Delivery log. Streams scheduled against completed, hours streamed, and which brief items appeared on screen and in speech.
  • Tracked results. Registrations, first deposits and 30 day activity by cohort, split by the streamer's link or code. Our guide to iGaming influencer attribution shows how to set this up.
  • Compliance log. Labels, safer gambling messages, takedowns and complaints during the term.
  • Fresh audience data. A new dashboard export and tracker data for the term, checked the way you checked before booking (see how to vet iGaming creators).

Four Gates to Clear Before You Score

Gates are not scored, because good results cannot make up for a compliance failure.

GateQuestionEvidence
1. DisclosureWas every sponsored stream labelled upfront and repeated during the stream?Three VODs, one chosen by you. The ASA expects a prominent upfront label such as Ad (ASA, March 2023) and the FTC asks live streamers to repeat disclosures (FTC)
2. Licensed marketsDid viewers and promoted offers stay inside markets your licence covers?Country split from the dashboard, offer pages shown on stream
3. Platform standingAny ban, strike or demonetisation, and is your brand still allowed on the platform?Streamer statement, platform rules. Kick allows only licensed gambling sponsors and treats undisclosed gambling sponsorship as a violation (Kick Help Center)
4. Audience still realDoes a repeat of your audit show viewbot signs or unexplained shifts?Chat ratio, viewer curves and follower history for the term

Rules also move during a term. On 4 June 2026 CAP and the ASA told gambling advertisers to amend or withdraw social media ads likely to appeal strongly to under 18s, with monitoring from 11 June 2026 (ASA enforcement notice). Responsibility stays with you: UK licensees must answer for the third parties they contract with (provision 1.1.2), and the FTC says a company is responsible for what others do on its behalf (FTC).

The Scorecard: Seven Weighted Criteria

streamer sponsorship renewal scorecard: weighted criteria panel illustration

Score each row from 1 to 5 using the evidence column. Multiply each score by its weight, divide by 5, and add the results to get a percentage. Change the weights to match your goals, but fix them before you look at a streamer's numbers.

CriterionWeightEvidenceScore 1Score 5
Delivery15%Streams completed against plan, hours, brief items shown, link and code liveMissed agreed streams or skipped brief itemsEvery agreed stream on schedule with every brief item
Audience quality15%Average viewer trend, chat ratio against peers, licensed country shareFalling or unexplained, viewers mostly outside licensed marketsStable or growing, chat in line with peers, licensed share above your minimum

Player quality15%26.0
Compliance and conduct15%515.0
Content and community fit10%48.0
Terms and relationship10%36.0
Total100%72.0 (72%)

The streamer passes all four gates and lands at 72%, so the decision is renew with changes. Player quality is the weakest row, so the changes should target it, for example by narrowing the countries promoted or tightening the offer, not by cutting the schedule.

Turn the Score Into a Decision

ResultDecisionWhat it means
80% or moreRenewSimilar terms, and a longer commitment if you want one
65% to 79%Renew with changesFix the weakest row in writing, with a shorter term or a make good clause
50% to 64%Extend brieflyOne short term with a stated target and a review date
Under 50%StopEnd the deal at the notice date and give the reasons
Any failed gateStop or pauseWhatever the score

These bands are a starting point. Set your own before you score, and write down the score and the reasons so next year's review has a baseline.

Terms to Change at Renewal

  • Make good clause. If delivery or average viewers fall short of the agreed level, the streamer owes an extra stream or a partial refund. Agree how viewers are measured.
  • Data access. A monthly dashboard export, so the next audit does not depend on goodwill.
  • Termination for breach. A right to end the deal promptly if the streamer breaches platform rules or an advertising code, which provision 1.1.2 requires UK licensees to have in third party contracts.
  • Exclusivity. Narrow it or drop it unless you are paying for it.
  • Approval of wording. Offer wording and clips approved before they go live.
  • Clip rights and notice date. Put clip rights in writing and diarise the notice date, with no automatic renewal without a review.

Mistakes That Lead to Bad Renewals

  • Renewing on size. A big follower count says little about depositors who stay.
  • Counting registrations only. Check deposits and 30 day activity before you call a stream a success.
  • Skipping the audience refresh. Audiences and platform enforcement change within a term.
  • Scoring during the negotiation. Score first, then talk terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a streamer sponsorship renewal scorecard?

A streamer sponsorship renewal scorecard is a sheet a casino brand fills in before extending a streamer deal. It combines pass or fail gates with weighted scores for delivery, audience, results, player quality, compliance, fit and terms.

When should a casino brand review a streamer deal?

At least four weeks before the notice date in the contract, because many agreements renew automatically unless notice is given. Pull delivery, tracking, compliance and audience data before you score.

Which metrics matter when renewing a streamer?

In this scorecard results against plan is weighted at 20%, and player quality, delivery, audience and compliance at 15% each. The key numbers are first deposits per sponsored hour, depositor rate, 30 day activity and bonus abuse flags. Registrations alone say little.

Should you renew a streamer who fails a compliance gate?

No. Stop or pause whatever the score, then fix the issue in writing before any new term. The brand stays responsible for what its creators publish.

What should change in a renewed streamer contract?

Add a make good clause, monthly dashboard access, a right to end the deal promptly for breaches, approval of offer wording and a diarised notice date.
