Gambling Ad Disclosure Examples for Streamers and Influencers
October 17, 2026

These gambling ad disclosure examples give you the exact words to use on a sponsored casino or betting stream, clip or post, checked against US FTC and UK ASA guidance on 17 October 2026. Copy them, swap in the brand name, and add any safer gambling message the brand or market requires.
Quick answer: Put a clear label first: "Ad" or "#ad" works in both the US and the UK. Say it out loud on video, keep an on-screen label up during live streams and repeat the spoken disclosure, and turn on the platform's paid partnership setting as well, not instead. Avoid vague tags such as "sp", "spon", "collab" or "ambassador", and in the UK avoid "sponsored" on its own.
LuvKaizen works with casino and crypto casino brands that sponsor streamers. We match you with a brand that fits your audience and negotiate the deal. Applying is free.
The Rules Behind Every Disclosure Example

Every example on this page follows the same few rules. Where the US and UK differ, use the stricter version if your audience includes both.
| Rule | US: FTC | UK: ASA and CAP |
|---|---|---|
| Accepted labels | "Advertisement", "Ad", "Sponsored", optional #ad or #sponsored | "Ad", "Advert", "Advertising", "Ad Feature", with or without # |
| Labels to avoid | "sp", "spon", "collab", or "thanks" and "ambassador" on their own | "Sponsored", "Gifted", "In association with", "Supported by", "aff", "sp", "spon" |
| Placement | Hard to miss, with the endorsement, not only in a bio or profile | Upfront, usually at the beginning, visible before anyone clicks or expands |
| Video | In the video, ideally both said and shown | Clear before the viewer clicks, or from the start of the video |
| Live streams | Repeat periodically, or keep a continuous on-screen disclosure | Same principles apply to new formats |
| Platform tools | Do not assume the tool is enough | Can help, may not be enough on its own |
Sources: FTC Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers, FTC Endorsement Guides: What People Are Asking and ASA Recognising ads: social media and influencer marketing (page dated 6 August 2026), all checked 17 October 2026.
Gambling adds age rules on top of ad labels. In the UK, CAP Code rule 16.3.12 bars gambling ads with strong appeal to under-18s, and rule 16.3.14 says no one who is, or seems to be, under 25 may be featured gambling or playing a significant role (CAP Code section 16). Since October 2025, 100,000 followers registered to under-18s across platforms is the rule of thumb for strong appeal (ASA). For the full compliance picture, see our casino influencer compliance guide.
Live Stream Disclosure Examples
A live viewer can join at any minute, so a single line at the start is not enough. The FTC suggests repeated disclosures through the stream or a continuous on-screen one. Use all four layers below.
Stream title
- "AD | Bonus hunt on [Brand] | 18+"
- "Ad: [Brand] slots session tonight | 18+ only"
Spoken disclosure at the start
- "Quick heads up before we start: this stream is a paid ad for [Brand]. They pay me to play on their site. 18 plus only, and please gamble responsibly."
- "Today's stream is sponsored by [Brand], which means this is an ad. The balance I'm playing with was provided by [Brand]." Use the second sentence whenever the brand funds your balance, because the FTC is clear that financial relationships are not limited to money.
Spoken reminders during the stream
- "For anyone just joining, this is a paid ad for [Brand]."
- A practical pattern is the start, about every 30 minutes, and after every break or raid. The FTC does not set a fixed interval, so err on the side of more.
On-screen overlay and chat
- Overlay for the whole stream: "AD | Paid partnership with [Brand] | 18+"
- Chat command reply: "Ad: I'm paid by [Brand]. Link: [tracking link]. 18+, T&Cs apply."
- On Twitch, also tick the Branded Content box in Stream Manager, which shows viewers a paid promotion notice. The tool was added in 2023 (reported by Lindsey Gamble). If your platform has no built-in label, the title, overlay and spoken lines do the job.
Clip, Short and Video Disclosure Examples
Clips travel without the context of the stream, so each one needs its own label. A clip from a sponsored stream is still an ad.
TikTok, Shorts and Reels
- On-screen text in the first second: "AD" or "Ad | [Brand]".
- Caption starting with the label: "Ad | Max win on [game] at [Brand] last night. 18+"
- Turn on TikTok's content disclosure setting, which labels the post as a paid partnership or commercial content (TikTok).
YouTube videos and VODs
- Title: "[AD] 100 spin bonus hunt on [Brand]".
- Spoken line in the first seconds: "This video is a paid ad for [Brand]."
- In YouTube Studio, tick "My video contains paid promotion like a product placement, sponsorship or endorsement". Viewers then see a disclosure message for the first 10 seconds (YouTube Help, checked 17 October 2026). YouTube also lists online gambling sites it has not reviewed among products you cannot promote, so check the brand's status first.
The ASA says a YouTube-style title or thumbnail should carry the label, and the FTC says the disclosure belongs in the video, not only in the description. If you run a clip channel or work with clippers, our iGaming clipping compliance guide covers labels at scale.
Social Post and Affiliate Link Examples

X and Instagram posts
- X: "Ad: going live on Kick at 8pm with [Brand]. Bonus hunt, 18+ only. [link]"
- Instagram: use the Paid partnership label (Meta) and still start the caption with "Ad |". The ASA says the platform label can help but may not be enough on its own, and its 2024 note on joint posts recommends a clear, prominent and upfront #ad (ASA).
Affiliate links and promo codes
An affiliate link or code is a paid relationship, so it needs a label even when no fee changes hands. The FTC's own example wording is "I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post", and it says "Paid link" placed right next to an affiliate link should be adequate (FTC). Adapted for casino links:
- "Ad: I earn a commission when you sign up through my link. 18+, T&Cs apply."
- "Paid link: [tracking link]"
- "Ad | Code [CODE] is my affiliate code for [Brand]. I'm paid when you use it."
In the UK, the ASA treats a creator who shares an affiliate link or code as an advertiser and says a discount code alone does not make the commercial relationship clear. Put the word "Ad" in front.
Wording That Does Not Count as Disclosure
Each of these falls short of FTC or ASA guidance, and each has a simple fix.
| Weak wording | Why it fails | Use instead |
|---|---|---|
| #sp, #spon, #aff | Viewers do not know what the abbreviations mean | Ad or #ad |
| "Thanks [Brand]" or "collab" | Does not say the content is paid | "Ad: paid partnership with [Brand]" |
| #BrandAmbassador | The ASA ruled it does not convey that content is an ad | "Ad | [Brand] ambassador" |
| "Sponsored" for UK viewers | The ASA advises against it as open to interpretation | Ad |
| "Gifted", "In association with", "Supported by" | The ASA calls these unlikely to be clear enough | Ad |
| Label only in the bio or About panel | The FTC says profile disclosures are likely to be missed | Label on each stream, clip and post |
| #ad buried after ten hashtags or below "See more" | Not upfront or prominent | Label as the first word |
| One line at the start of a six-hour stream | Late viewers never see it | Overlay plus repeated spoken reminders |

Get Matched With a Casino Sponsor
Disclosure is easier when the sponsor gives you a written brief with the labels, links and age rules for each market, so ask for one before your first stream. We work with casino and crypto casino brands that sponsor streamers, match you with a brand that accepts players from your audience's countries, and negotiate the deal. Applying is free.
You stay responsible for following your platform's rules and the law where you live, and we only match you with brands that can accept your viewers' countries.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a gambling ad disclosure?
A gambling ad disclosure is a clear label that tells viewers a stream, clip or post is paid advertising for a casino or betting brand, such as "Ad" at the start of a post plus a spoken disclosure and on-screen label on video.
Is #ad enough on a sponsored casino stream?
Not if it only sits in the description. The FTC expects the disclosure in the video itself and repeated during live streams, and the ASA expects a prominent label upfront. Use a title label, an on-screen overlay and spoken reminders together.
Can I write sponsored instead of ad?
In the US the FTC lists sponsored as an acceptable term. In the UK the ASA advises against sponsored because it is open to interpretation, so use Ad if any of your audience is in the UK.
Is the platform's paid partnership label enough?
Not on its own. The FTC says not to assume a platform's disclosure tool is good enough, and the ASA says a paid partnership label can help but may not be enough by itself. Use the tool and your own Ad label.
Do affiliate links and promo codes need a disclosure?
Yes. The FTC accepts wording such as "I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post" or "Paid link" next to the link. In the UK, sharing an affiliate link or code makes you an advertiser and a code alone is not a disclosure.
How often should I disclose during a live stream?
The FTC says to repeat the disclosure periodically or keep a continuous on-screen label. A practical pattern is a spoken line at the start, about every 30 minutes and after breaks, with an overlay for the whole stream.
Are there extra UK rules for gambling influencers?
Yes. CAP Code rule 16.3.12 bars gambling ads with strong appeal to under-18s, and rule 16.3.14 says no one who is or seems under 25 may be featured gambling. Since October 2025, 100,000 under-18 followers across platforms is the rule of thumb for strong appeal.
